Pear Tart Recipe

From the kitchen you will need
- For the crust:
- Flour 240 g
- Butter 130 g
- Icing Sugar 30 g
- Egg yolk 1 piece
- For the filling:
- Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk 397g 1 tin
- Fresh Pears (sliced) 500 g
- Butter (melted) 15 g
- Almond Flour (or finely ground almonds) 40 g
- Eggs 2 pieces
- Vanilla Extract 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon Powder (optional) 1 teaspoon
- Salt ¼ teaspoon

Combine flour, butter and icing sugar in a bowl, & rub the ingredients by hand until crumbs form.

Add the egg yolk and mix by hand until firm dough forms. Chill dough in the fridge for 20 minutes.

Take the dough out of the fridge then press into the base and sides of a 26 cm loose-bottomed tart pan.

Bake in a 200°C preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

Beat the melted butter and Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk. Add ground almonds, cinnamon, salt, eggs and vanilla and stir well.

Spoon the mixture into the tart pan.

Place the pear halves over the mixture and push them slightly into the mixture.

Bake in a 185°C preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until firm in the middle. Once cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
