Saffron & Milk Cake Recipe
From Nestlé® you will need
From the kitchen you will need
- For batter
- All-purpose flour 1.5 cups
- Butter, at room temperature 0.5 cup
- Eggs 5 pieces
- Sugar 1 cup
- Saffron or other flavor (orange, pistachio…) 1 teaspoon
- Hot water 1 tablespoon
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
- Baking Powder 1.5 teaspoon
- For soaking:
- Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk 397g 397 g
- Milk 1 cup
- Whipping cream 0.5 cup
- For topping:
- Whipping cream 2 cups
- Icing sugar 0.5 cup

In a large bowl, beat the butter well

Add sugar and mix.

Add the eggs one by one.

Stir the saffron in hot water and add vanilla extract.
Step

Sift the flour with baking powder and add to the mixture gradually using a spoon (don’t stop beating)

Brush a rectangular cake tin with some butter and pour in the mixture

Bake the cake in preheated 190°C oven for 35 minutes.

Meanwhile in a large pitcher, mix the milk with the Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk

Keep aside

Bring the cake from the oven, and using a fork make multiples holes at the top

Pour the milk mixture gradually all over the poked cake

Add a thick layer of cream on top and garnish with saffron threads
