Tres Leches Cake (Milk Cake) Recipe

From the kitchen you will need
- For the batter:
- Flour 1 cup
- Eggs, divided 5 pieces
- Sugar 1 cup
- Milk 80 g
- Vanilla 1 teaspoon
- Salt 0.5 teaspoon
- Baking Powder 2 teaspoon
- For soaking:
- Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk 395 g 1 tin
- Whole milk 2 cups
- Whipping cream 0.5 cup
- For topping:
- Whipping cream 250 g
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
Step by Step

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Whisk flour, baking powder and salt together and set aside.

Meanwhile, cream together the sugar and egg yolks until pale yellow and doubled in volume.

Gradually add milk and vanilla while mixing on the lowest speed.

Pour the egg yolk mixture into the flour mixture & gently stir to combine.

Set batter aside.

Soaking ingredients:

Combine Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk, whole milk, and heavy cream in a bowl and stir.

For the Whipping cream:

Place mixer bowl in the freezer for 10 minutes.

Add whipping cream and sugar to cold mixing bowl, and whisk on high speed for 1 to 1.5 minutes until you reach stiff peaks. Do not overmix.

To assemble:

Allow the cake to cool in the pan before turning out onto a cake rack.

Pierce tops with a skewer

Drizzle milk mixture all over the cake, making sure to cover all areas making sure cake is equally soaked all over.

Cover with the whipped cream.

Refrigerate for 2 hours and serve.
